Cold Peel Application for Glitter Finish

Glitter DTF uses cold peel release. Press the transfer, then let it cool completely to room temperature before peeling. We press glitter at 300°F, 10 seconds, three presses, at 60 to 80 PSI on an auto or pneumatic press or medium to firm on a manual press. Peeling cold locks in the sparkle detail and produces the cleanest edge.

⚠ Important Production Notes

Glitter DTF Transfers. Cold peel. Production runs in 24 business hours, Monday to Friday. Glitter DTF is not a Same Day product.

Same three presses we use for standard DTF, 300°F, 10 seconds each:

Press the empty garment. 300°F, 10 seconds. This gets the moisture out of the fabric.
Press the transfer. 300°F, 10 seconds. Pressure: 60 to 80 PSI on an auto or pneumatic press, medium to firm on a manual press.
Let it cool all the way, then peel it cold. Cold means cold, not warm to the touch. Peel a glitter transfer early and you will most likely ruin it.
Press it again to seal. 300°F, 10 seconds. That last press is the one that makes the print stick and stay.

Common Questions About Glitter DTF Transfers Answered

Does Glitter DTF use different press settings?

In our shop, glitter and standard press the same: 300°F for 10 seconds, three presses, 60 to 80 PSI on an auto or pneumatic press or medium to firm on a manual. What changes is the peel. Standard is hot peel, glitter is cold peel, so let a glitter transfer cool all the way before you peel it.

Can I get Glitter DTF with same-day turnaround?

No. Glitter runs on standard 24-hour production turnaround Mon–Fri. Guaranteed same-day production (with the 1 PM ET cutoff) is available only for Same Day DTF Gang Sheets and UV DTF.

How does glitter hold up to washing?

Glitter DTF is designed for durability on fabric. Second pressing is recommended to maximize wash performance. Wash garments inside out in cool water for best long-term results.

What fabrics work with glitter transfers?

Cotton, polyester, blends, tri-blends, leather, denim, and nylon. Not recommended for coated fabrics, highly elastic materials, rough textures, or sublimated jerseys.

When is glitter the right choice?

Use glitter when the sparkle finish is the point of the design — event-wear, special collections, dance/cheer uniforms, decorative accents. For standard everyday apparel, Custom DTF Gang Sheets are more cost-effective.

Will the glitter wash off or fade over time?

We pressed it and washed it ourselves. Three presses of 10 seconds at 300°F: the empty shirt to get the moisture out, the transfer, then one more to seal it. That last press is the one that makes the print stick and stay.

Glitter still had its sparkle after 30 washes. After 50 washes on cotton and polyester, our standard transfer had no cracks, no peeling and no fading. We stopped counting there, so that is how far we tested, not a limit. Industry guides put a well pressed transfer at 50 to 100 washes.

Wait 24 hours before the first wash. Then wash inside out in cold water, no bleach and no fabric softener. Standard prints can tumble dry on low. Glitter always air dries. Do that and the print stays soft, bright and stuck to the shirt.

Does glitter feel rough or scratchy on the garment?

Glitter DTF has a textured finish — it's not as smooth as flat DTF because that texture is the whole point of the look. It isn't sharp or abrasive; it feels like a decorative finish similar to commercial glitter heat transfer vinyl. If you need a completely flat, soft hand-feel, choose Custom DTF Gang Sheets instead.
